Celebrating 60 Years in Katherine

Somerville Community Services’ 60th anniversary celebrations continued in Katherine, where participants and staff came together to reflect on this important milestone.

The Katherine community has been a vital part of Somerville’s story for more than three decades. Our first home in Katherine opened in October 1989, providing much-needed support and accommodation. In 1994, we expanded further with the launch of Youth and Family Services, strengthening our commitment to families and young people in the region.

The afternoon celebration was a chance to look back on our history, acknowledge the contributions of staff and participants, and celebrate the enduring connections that have shaped our journey in Katherine.

As we mark 60 years of service across the Northern Territory, we are proud to continue building on this legacy of care, inclusion and community.
