Honouring Young Achievers: Congratulations, Uxel Mason
Earlier this month, we joined the celebrations at the Northern Territory Young Achiever Awards — a night to recognise and honour the Territory’s young leaders and changemakers.
We’re thrilled to congratulate Uxel Mason, winner of the Promoting Disability Rights and Inclusion Award.
Uxel’s story is one of compassion, resilience and drive. From a young age, he has been a dedicated carer for his brothers with autism and supported his father after a life-changing injury. Alongside his caregiving, Uxel champions inclusion through his work with CemeNTstars, a drama group for young adults with disabilities, and the Darwin Athletics Club, where he fosters connection and community through sport.
As an ambassador for Young Carers NT, he gives a strong voice to young carers across the Territory — pushing for better support and recognition. All while balancing work, study and caregiving, Uxel has excelled, earning the 2023 NT Young Carers Award.
We’re proud to celebrate Uxel’s achievements—and to acknowledge all the finalists in our category who are making a real difference in disability rights and inclusion.
