Ladies Leisurely Lunge Café

For ladies of all ages, Somerville is organising an opportunity to work towards health goals in a social group while connecting with friends and the community.

Ladies Leisurely Lunge Café will be a two hour session that includes a one hour casual walk along one of Darwin’s picturesque walking trails followed by a relaxing drink with your walking buddies. 

Walking routes will change from week to week but include the same group of five cafés, giving participants an opportunity to make real connections with the café staff.

Group Size: 6 – 10 Ladies

Duration: Ongoing

                    2 semesters a year

                    Schedule will be provided on registration

Time: Two hour session

Day: Wednesday mornings 9 – 11am

(Also Saturday if there is sufficient interest)

 

The group will walk along a selection of picturesque walking trails, visit one of the below cafés before strolling back to the starting point.

  • Cool Spot, Fannie Bay Shops
  • Salty Plum, East Point Reserve
  • The Foreshore Restaurant & Café, Nightcliff Foreshore
  • Cornucopia, The Darwin Museum
  • Eve’s Café, The Botanical Gardens

 

Cost:

Somerville is running this program through the NDIS, they will be using the group based community, social and recreational support items. Specific fee is dependent on your needs. Non NDIS participants will be required to fund their attendance via a fee for service at NDIS rates.

Café purchases are at the participant’s expense. A minimum amount is needed to cover a drink at café costs.

Somerville suggests participants only purchase drinks and healthy snacks, with the program having a focus on healthy lifestyle choices.

Transport:

Participants can be dropped off and picked up from the starting location at no cost.

If you require Somerville to provide transport there is a program cost, percentage of hourly rate as well as a transport fee of $10 for northern suburbs or $15 for Palmerston per participant per week.
